Stay open, be humble, keep learning

After 25 years of secondary teaching and raising 3 extraordinary humans with my husband, I decided to make a change. Yoga Compass is the culmination of this change. I am very proud to have you reading these words and I welcome you to this special community. 

The practice of yoga is so much more than an exercise regime, it is a philosophy for life. It embodies thousands of years of wisdom and reflection, it challenges us to be better, in mind and body, and to embrace the present, the now.

 Yoga is a state of being achieved when our heart is open and our mind is stilled 

For me, I came back to yoga after dipping my toes several times throughout my life. However, Yoga really found me when I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the start of 2020 (yes, that year!). For me, Yoga has been a life saver. It has not only kept me moving and given me a way to maintain my strength when my body seemed to be fighting itself, it has enabled a mental capacity and self understanding that I did not realise I was capable of.  I learnt to give myself permission to look after me. I learnt to live in the present, to find joy in the little things. I learnt that I still have much to give and share, and that I want to.

So today I invite you to open yourself to the possibilities that Yoga reveals. I aim to create an accessible welcoming yoga community, where you are guided and supported to find your strength and capacity. I hope to reveal to you the extraordinary and amazing human you are!

Yoga Compass is a new beginning, for me in my life journey and for all who wish to journey with me.
